Latchmoor House

New Forest

HIERON Design was commissioned to undertake the refurbishment and modernisation of Latchmoor House, a Grade II Listed hunters lodge nestled in the heart of the New Forest National Park. Our comprehensive services encompassed architecture and interior design, encompassing planning and listed building applications. Collaborating closely with the client from initial concept through to technical execution, we endeavoured to introduce sensitive, meticulously crafted, and bespoke upgrades to both the original 1911 arts & crafts house and its 1930s extensions.

Establishing a cohesive partnership with planning and conservation officers was paramount in securing the requisite approvals. Our proposals not only focused on preserving the historical integrity of the property but also prioritised significant sustainability enhancements, ensuring its adaptation to the demands of the 21st century while minimising its carbon footprint for years to come. These enhancements encompassed the installation of a photovoltaic array, integration of air source heat pumps, implementation of sustainable electrical and heating systems, incorporation of battery storage solutions, and improvements to the thermal fabric of the building.
